Captain Jan is one of the most entertaining guides that we have had our entire trip. We laughed the entire canal ride while getting a very detailed lesson on the history of Amsterdam and its canals, including the residence of President of the US, John Adams. Adult beverages were included. We almost signed up to do the trip agin but just ran out of time, sadly. This tour is outstanding and definitely worth taking.

Lovely canal tour, knowledgeable and friendly. The boat was cozy and a peice of history in its own.The best part was getting to know the small group, while seeing the crowded commercialized boats and realizing I made the right choice! The Captain Dave experience is personal and comfortable. Not an overwhelming tourist attraction rather a high quality and relaxing experience.Loved it! Would definitely recommend over the other boat tours.

Wonderful tour with Jan! We did the early morning tour which was quiet and peaceful. Of course he gave us so cool facts about the city, but also some personal recommendations for food and sites to see. Highly recommend!

What an excellent 90 minute traverse of the canals of Amsterdam! Jisela was a wonderful Captain / tour guide, very personable and imparted such detailed history of Amsterdam! Anyone considering a small setting along the Amsterdam canals, this is the charter to seek and book with.

Great experience! I was part of a group of eight, and the trip around the canals was fabulous. There were not a lot of boats around (this was on Monday morning from 10-11:30) and it was nice to hear the stories from Captain Dave who grew up in the Jordaan neighborhood. There were lots of pictures to show the changes to the city over time, and Dave was very knowledgeable. I liked the electric boat because it was very quiet the majority of the time. And the sweet bread he offered was very tasty!

My sister and I went on an early morning canal tour with Captain Dave himself on the James Bond boat. He was an excellent tour guide—very knowledgeable and friendly. I'd highly recommend this tour over any of the big ones where the boat operators look bored. Dave showed us several points of interest, and the early morning time meant we hardly saw any other boats on the water and didn't have to wait to see some of the major attractions.

I strongly recommend this tour as it was a highlight of our trip in Amsterdam. Kareem was our captain who gave us a wonderful insight on so many topics about Amsterdam and the Dutch people. The boat is beautiful and we were able to see so much more of Amsterdam than we would have just walking. The early morning tour is a must!

The morning cruise was worth getting up early for because we had all canals to ourselves. Great pictures!! We also loved the smaller group for this tour boat. We highly recommend!!

Highly recommend this experience. Amsterdam has no shortage of canal cruises—and I’ve tried several—but this one strikes the perfect balance. Jans was an engaging and informative captain, the setting was comfortable and relaxed, and the boat itself was absolutely beautiful.

Did this tour with our five-year-old daughter. We had great weather, but it was a huge benefit to have indoor space and a toilet on board. We only had two other groups with us so plenty of space on the boat, which was really nice. Definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful time on our canal tour with Jan! He was incredibly knowledgeable and catered the tour to our interests (history and architecture). He was welcoming, funny, and gave us so much interesting information. The boat was great, too. It was just our family of 6, so the perfect size. It was a cold and windy day, so we stayed inside the boat and still had perfect views. I felt sorry for all the other tour boats we passed that weren’t covered! There were snacks and beverages to enjoy as well. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a canal tour on their visit!

Loved this Amsterdam canal cruise! The boat was a retired royal vessel, which made the experience feel extra special and unique.We spent about 1.5 hours cruising through the canals at a relaxed pace—beautiful views, great atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you want something beyond the typical tour.

We booked a canal boat trip in Amsterdam that came with bottomless beer and drinks, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip.From the moment we stepped on board, the atmosphere was relaxed and social. The boat itself was comfortable, clean and well set up for groups. The real selling point, of course, was the unlimited beer, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Drinks were flowing freely the entire time. Definitely recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was a tad disappointed when my wife and I discovered that our cruise would not be led by Capt. Dave, but instead by his friend Gisella. But Gisella (apologies if I've spelled this incorrectly) gave our small group - two other couples and a family with two teenagers - a fantastic tour. She shared lots of history of the city and the canals, and was receptive to questions. The boat provided some delicious sweet breads and various beverages. It also helped that the boat was heated - it was a pretty chilly morning in Amsterdam. Overall, it felt like a richer experience than we would have received on one of the larger boats that offer cruises of the canals.

Jan made the tour super fun with all his interesting facts and humor. He was funny, and knowledgeable. I went solo and felt very comfortable in the group, and very much enjoyed the experience. The evening tour was a great time to go out with the sunset. The boat was beautiful and the scenery was even better. I recommend this tour and Jan as your tour guide!

This is so fun. If you do it use a small company like this. Much more personal. No prerecorded ear recordings. The captain was so knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the city.
