Amsterdam Light Festival

-One of the ten best winter festivals in Europe. The Guardian

See the Amsterdam Light Festival the Captain Dave way: twelve guests, one local captain and front-row views from the water.

For 90 minutes, we follow the Amsterdam Light Festival route past the illuminated artworks. Along the way, we make a small detour to show you a little more of Amsterdam, including the famous Seven Bridges.

Your local captain is your host and guide along the way, sharing stories about Amsterdam, the artworks and the city around you.

Made for Amsterdam in winter

Our boats have glass sliding windows, so you see the artworks clearly, even with the windows closed. There is heating, extra blankets and a toilet on board. On a clear evening we slide the windows open. That gives you that little bit extra.

Mulled wine and hot chocolate are included.

Two boats, one experience

Au 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30 pm we sail on the historic Jonckvrouw.

Au 5:00 and 7:00 pm we sail on the James Bond , with panoramic views and plenty of outdoor space.

Both boats are electric, comfortable and designed to give you a great view of the festival.

Rendez-vous à bord !

Cheers,
Captain Dave

Everything you might want to know

—Winter on the canals

The light artworks are made to be seen from the water, and a great view makes all the difference.

Our boats have glass sliding windows that open, so you get clear views from inside. Want to get even closer to the city? Step outside for an unobstructed view of the lights and canals.

And to keep things warm and cozy, mulled wine and hot chocolate are included.

You are always comfortable: a heated salon, glass sliding windows and an open deck. Through the glass you see the artworks even with the windows closed. On a clear evening we slide them open, for that little bit extra. If it rains or it is cold, you stay dry and warm inside.

This is a shared cruise, up to 12 guests. You reserve your place. We don’t take people from the quay.

Prefer the boat to yourselves? Book a visite privée .
